Kostyantyn Gusliyenko was born on 25th of February 1959 in Kyiv, Ukraine. The name of his father is Yuriy Aleksandrovich Gusliyenko, he was Senior Researcher, PhD, Institute of Metalorgy. His mother's name is Margarita Gusliyenko, she was a doctor (pediatrician).
Kostyantyn graduated from high school in 1976 when he was 17 years old. He entered the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" majoring in Physics. He obtained a Bachelor and, then, a Master degree in Physics of Metals. He continued his career obtaining a PhD in Physics & Mathematics in the Institute for Metal Physics of the National academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 1989. He received an Excellence Award for his PhD thesis with specialization in Solid State Physics.
